Hi, I m from Hong Kong and is it reliable to purchase a laptop (Lotus P151HM1) from Malibal or other resellers outside the US coz warranty only apply in the US domestically .. and what should be noticed or given attention when purchasing ?

    Thanks

take care of local duties and if you have a problem you'll have to send it to hong kong.

Warranties apply international, you just need to ship the defective machine (or part; if you have a keyboard/hard drive/etc faulty and your machine will run without it) at your own cost.

Hi, our international customers have the same exact warranty coverage as US customers. The only difference is the shipping costs. However, for Active NBR members, we pay 40% of the cost for international UPS Express shipping. So if you ever have to ship something in for replacement or repair, you would only pay 60% of the shipping cost and we would pay the other 40%. :)

Wait wait wait... that 40% international shipping covers warranty repair?
And you assemble your machines in-house (as you aren't a Sager reseller per-se)?

Well... to be active, you just... be active. I dunno what else to tell you, it should be self-explanatory.

As for other big brands, they don't care and simply want to make money from you. They are either unawares of Sager/Clevo/ASUStek/MSI and their cheaper, more-powerful-than-theirs laptops, or they're counting on bling bling/nice looks *cough* alienware *cough*, or they're simply banking on YOU not knowing that they're not the cheapest. And let's face it, if someone's bought Dell their whole life, and they're planning to buy an M18x, and you tell them about the P170HM/Sager NP8170/Lotus P170HM/Nyx 1711, or the x7200/Sager NP7282/Nine 7200 (in case you wanna beat the SLI options in that M18x), both of which smoke Alienware badly for less cost, the person is going to say "well I never heard of those brands I don't want to give them all this money." and will buy what they want and waste their cash on people who I honestly feel don't deserve it for trying to overcharge for nothing.

thanks so much for the reply ! :) looks like sager/clevo notebooks are really in good quality and it makes me not to worry too much as an international customer according to most feedback on the forum.

Do u think np8130/Lotus P151HM1 will be the best i can get around 1000usd (excluding shipping) ?

on the other hand, so it s not possible to get the 40% delivery offer as i m new to this forum also i m deciding to get the laptop (np8130/Lotus P151HM1) within 2 weeks ?

    thanks once again ! :)

It is the best for that price range.

I don't know if you'll be able to get the 40% off, but you can try. I think I have to go with Malibal too next time. That shipping is good, and their prices are great.

I found tht kinda funny too lol... i m not sure if there s any reseller in Hong Kong ... as i know there s only tiny little group of ppl using sager/malibal notebook... i hv asked them n they also bought them from the US website ...

but u think i can ask Clevo in taiwan to build one and to send it directly from taiwan to hong kong so i can save a big chunk of delivery fee :D ?

Think you have a small number of people using Sager/Clevo? There's only ONE other person I've seen in my whole country that ever even previously owned a Sager. And he don't even have it anymore. XD.

I was thinkin about the big brands before, but after tons of research i finally or luckily get to know Clevo laptop lol and i ve asked the person from taiwan abt buying Clevo latop in asia however their price is actually more expensive than i buy it in the US, so i decided to buy through the US reseller (mayb wif some help from my cousin who lives in the US right now)
