I am about to purchase a new laptop and the 5797 seems to be the best bet for me. Only problem so far is the keypress issues. Since it lacks N-rollover, it can only register 2-3 key presses at one time.

This is a pretty significant problem for me personally as an avid FPS gamer and I do not want to settle.

    I have read:
Is this true or just speculation? Ideally I want a keyboard with N-rollover and I don't want to pass on SAGER because of this, but I'm not willing to settle just yet. Any information or helpful discussion would be appreciated...

This isn't much of an issue. Many people have confirmed that the most commonly used button combinations work flawlessly (wasd+shift+space and fine) and it's only very rare button combinations that don't register properly.

Mapping is indeed different on different keyboards. I just haven't had the privelage of testing it out for myself on a M570TU/ETU. If that is correct than I am not so worried.

It's interesting with some of the high end keyboards, that you can run into ghosting problems and not even know it...

Best practice is waiting 24 hours before self-bumping.

That was the thread that initially sparked my curiousity. Having dealt with similar keyboard issues in the past, I was concerned. Thank you tho..

why not just use cheap external KB for gaming , or buy dedicated gaming KB that is designed to have rollover , or anti ghosting

you're expecting too much from a laptop membrane keyboard?
full n-key rollover exist only in mechanical keyboards....which is around $100-$200

even the logitech G15 something , those razer keyboards still dont give full n-key rollover because they use some el-cheapo membrane switches..
