I purchased the sager np8268-s a while ago and got the gtx880m. I was going to wait until the 900s were announced but at the time I couldn't wait as needed a laptop. While I'm not regretting getting the 880m as like I said I needed the laptop at the time, but I'm currently looking to upgrade to the 980m. I have contacted Sager and there response was "we do not offer the upgrade kit yet" I'm just wondering if this is a futile endeavor? are there any other kits that would work? Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same config, and I asked MYSN för a upgrade kit, but no luck there. MSI is offering upgrade kits for their laptops that support it. Now my 880m is fine with an asic at 90.5% so I might just skip one generation and jump on the next gtx 1080m...

You just need to acquire a card. You'll need a system bios update I believe so you don't need to use modified .inf drivers to install driver updates, but otherwise the card should literally be plug and play in the P150SM-A. Also, it's nicest if you use the clevo names for the machines directly. If you want to buy a card, you can use rjtech's website to order one; it'll run you ~$720 or so for it. Hope that clears things up for you, but I guarantee you that they do work in your machine.

You will need to re-arrange/replace a couple of the thermal pads.

"Futile endeavor" = no. But it will take some work and $$$ on your end to accomplish. If you end up finding the card for purchase on your own, be sure that it's a Clevo card!

Seems you two have lost your notebook retailer statuses... this Xenforo movement is more trouble than it's worth for the forum.

I suppose we'll have to lean more on our signatures for now to get that message across. It's a small price to pay. :)

Yeah, except I could add that myself... before your names had a colour to go with it, as did the mods etc.
