First of all, I live in the UK, and the laptop was bought in Aug from the US with help from my cousin who lives there. the laptop has been working perfectly fine until few days ago, i couldn't log into windows and i decided to re-install it after several attempts on try to fix it. The first time i re-install the windows took ages (around 6 hours) and after installation the laptop still running really slow so i decided to format the hard drive and install it again.. I deleted all the files by pressing the "delete" button on the windows 7 installation page and when i tried to format it , the following msg appeared "windows could not format a partition on disk 0 windows 7 [Error: 0x80070057]." after over 7 hours wait after i pressed the "format" button.
I would like to know if there s a problem with my hard drive or it s just a software problem .. if that s the hardware problem, how will i be able to claim the warranty? post it back to the US ? i am really in hurry to use my laptop for assignments ... please help
thank you

Sounds like a bad HDD. See who made it - try to contact them for an RMA. If MALIBAL can't help you, that is...

thank you for ur reply, other problems are the time the money for postage ...
so i m hopin it s just a software problem... but i dont feel it that way

Find a local hardware geek you trust that can do free (or pay via beer
) diagnosis?

Hi, please open a ticket on our site - so we can address this for you. Thanks.
-
the link in the website isn't working .. it says Server Error in '/' Application.
-
What link are you clicking, it's working for me...
-
Clear your browser history and try clicking the link on the website again.
-
still not workin even with different browser
-
That linked your posted is wrong... you have to click the link through the website, I have checked it - it's working.

Maybe you could purchase a new hard drive or test a second hand one out. If it works then you could just send the hard drive back for a replacement.

submitted , thank you

i will take the laptop to the repair store tomorrow, hope they can define the problem... and see what i will do next... tried everything i search on the internet already ... exhausted...
-
keep me informed as what happens as this is something i am considering, buying from USA/europe to UK (price reasons), and this could be a deal breaker or maker

Hi, i just had a reply from the person who helped to diagnose my laptop, and he s 100% sure that it s the hard drive itself causing the problem... i just sent an email to "Malibal" and hope they can offer an exchange asap as i have exams for next coming weeks...
i will keep you updated once they reply -
We already replied... check your email.
-
that was quick
by the way, i have got a question, if i receive a new hard drive, do i just plug it into the port and install windows straight away without any further action like setting the bios ?
thank you -
That's all there is to it. Swap it out and install windows again.
-
Ignore this.
