I had a problem playing this game because the screen starts flickering. Only recently I realised that this was due to pressing the Fn key (which I do to adjust the volume or put fans at 100%).

The thing is that if I hit the Fn key, even accidentally, every 5 seconds I get a 'flashback' of the game's menu, or of the logo. To get rid of the flash/flicker, it is not enough to quit the game and restart, but I have to quit and restart Windows.

It's kinda inconvenient, especially since one can hit the Fn key accidentally...

I'm wondering if anyone else who has a NP9262 or equivalent has the same problem when pressing the Fn key in Oblivion. (It happens only during Oblivion, I have no problem with pressing the Fn key during other games).

I didn't have that problem with Oblivion, but perhaps I simply didn't ever hit Fn by mistake. Relative to Rambo39's comment, I did not have the hot keys enabled.

Adjust Vista's "Visual Effects" for "Best Performance" before you start Oblivion:

    1. Click on "Start"
    2. Right click on "Computer" and choose "Properties"
    3. Click on "Advanced system settings" in the left menu
    4. Make sure you're in the "Advanced" tab
    5. Click "Settings" for performance
    6. Under the "Visual Effects" tab click "Adjust for best performance" and hit "Apply"
    7. Run Oblivion
    8. Smile :D

That should work. At least it did for me.
