Got a new P651se, but I noticed something rather suspicious.

The ac is always plugged in, but after 3 days of use, after shutting down the laptop, if I unplug the ac adapter for a second and plug back in, he will start recharging the battery.

So I started the laptop again to see what was going on.
When I startup my win8.1 I noticed the battery is only 90% full, while a few minutes ago before unplug (and plug back in the ac before starting up again) the battery indicator was green (as in 100% full).

Is something wrong with this battery?

There is often a limit put when charging a laptop battery. Onmy laptop I have put 100%, but using the default settings it would stop at 80%. They say it's better for the longevity of the battery. Maybe Windows 8.1 has a similar restriction, stopping at 90% ?

I don't think so, because windows power options is telling me the battery is at 100% right now.

71 people have read my thread, can anyone confirm this is normal or not? If I were you, I'd try it. Check your power icon right now, if it's 100%, try shut down, unplug, and plug the ac again. Does it stay at 100%, or starts recharging?

Sometimes it can take Windows a few minutes to get an accurate reading for the battery, that would explain the change from 100 to 90%. Did it go back up to 100% pretty quickly?

It behaves like if it was draining the battery, but theres no indication. You only notice the battery drained when you unplug it, and from 100% you go to 90 (94% in my case).

Make sure you are up to date on all Windows updates as we have seen that fix battery reporting issues before.
