does anybody know if new pascal cards can be flashed from Gsync to non-Gync?
heard a rumor that it is possible, unlike it was with Maxwell. @Prema @Meaker@Sager @woodzstack. do you guys know anything about it?

I am not sure but a spare bios chip and out of circuit programmer could answer the question. -

you're funny
but i do mean just simple good old nvflash flashing method

Yeah but the wrong file in this case can brick your card and my way gives a way to test and recover with a flash.

i am guessing nvflash has protection for this kind of things. it would not allow to flash a G-sync bios to a no G card at Maxwell. -

Oh you can flash any file you like if you force it (which you will since the ID will be different) so this is a very fast way to brick your card indeed. You have been warned.

Well! i had a china vbios msi who was a bit special...it was incorporated gsync and non gsync detection. ( chinese traduction is hard). I still have a back up of it. Weirdly....Prema help me to flash to non gsync version but right now, i am unable to come back to my backup...im stuck with 1ba1 version...cant use 1be1....
-
Nope, a this moment noway at least with my laptop....it say missmatch id then cmd close. No way to pass it. i tried to contact a modder of nvflash but he is inactive since :/tanzmeister likes this.

at least it means hard flashing is possible at MSI cards. wonder how Clevo's cards work in that sense. -
well i will try soon with a programmer. i m waiting advise from others members

i only have a msi 1070n. but i will edit edid from b173zan display too with programer since i cant mod it from linux.

so what are you up to ? enabling G-sync? which machine? -
p377sma. not even activating gsync. i just want the panel recognized with 1070n
-
@Coolane tried to reprogram a 1070 and it failed.

bricked all the way? -
boot issues mostly.
-
I modded the MSI vbios awhile ago and flashed it, got black screen on boot.
Basically it was a brick, I could only fix it with flashing back a default vbios with a programmer. -
so what are you using now? Are you still using the overclocks?
-
These new vBIOS's have too much cancer and spyware in them... Flashing left and right isn't a good idea..
Even Prema has not been able to unlock them yet..

if i understand this thread correctly correctly 1be1 is the gsync version and 1ba1 is non gsync? this whole time I thought 1be1 was BGA and 1ba1 is MXM

There is so much stupid nonsense going on with NVIDIA that even if one defeats the Falcon malware implant there is no real guarantee that a vBIOS mod that works right today is going to work right tomorrow. The Green Goblin is lead from the top-down by weasels and crooks. They can use their SMI malware to manipulate vBIOS firmware and alter GPU behavior through their cancer-bot drivers. And, guess what most gamer-boys wet their pants about and trip over one another to hurry up and try out? LOL... yup, drivers.

This is why VEGA must crush Pascal and then NVIDIA will be forced to innovate.... Not that they will considering how many Fanbois they have!Mr. Fox likes this.
