Really considering getting this screen mostly becuase I prefer glossy screens ( I know blasphemy!)
Looking for some owners out there with some eyes on time to see how good or bad it is.
HTwingnut raved about it when he used one on a laptop he reviewed just looking for more opinions on the screen.
I've heard it some owners complain about color reproduction ( yellow being bad ) would love to hear what owners think after using it for a while.
And yes I know it uses a Pentile matrix to produce 4K so that is not a issue, did consider the 4K SHARP but not sure if it's worth it to me for an extra $250 and its matte. (SHARP 4K screen owners can share opinions too)
Is it worth the extra $150 to upgrade or is the stock 1080P LG IPS screen good enough it seems most newer CLEVO/SAGER come with these days?

In my opinion the stock FHD panel is very good, then again so is the Sharp 4K but I will leave it to owners to give their opinion!

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The IPS panels do look good, though hardcore gamers aren't enthralled with their response time. The Pentile screens are sharp and look nice, but the Pentile technology does have minor drawbacks in color reproduction.

The current shipping Sharp 4K is not matte.
There is a matte version coming in April. -
Really!
Everywhere they say its the matte version, but good to know. -

It depends which company you purchase your laptop from and which laptop model you are looking at. The matt/non-glare Sharp 4k panel is available in the P651 from us now for example but it's not available in the P751ZM until mid April. Looks like Sager and ProStar have the matt Sharp available now (as Epsilon748 confirmed) in the P651/P650 too so really we're all just waiting for the same panel to become available in the P751 in April

I've had the Sharp 4K (glossy) for a few months now.
My main gripe is the backlight bleed. It can ruin watching/playing films and games with dark scenes in. All IPS displays are susceptible to backlight bleeding though, it's not brand specific. Another gripe would be the graininess of whites/light colours, due to some sort of protective layer under the glass or something of that nature, though again this is not isolated to this particular model, or even IPS displays - or even laptops.
So really my main gripes are issues that can affect all current LCD displays, not just the Sharp model. The only gripe I have that is specific to this model of display is the glossy nature of the screen - if the matte version had been available when I bought this laptop I would have gone for that option instead of the glossy version. Obviously glossy vs matte is entirely subjective. I don't regret going for a high-PPI glossy vs a FHD matte display though - the added clarity on text and images with a high PPI display was worth it.
For my next laptop purchase later this year (I'm on a yearly upgrade cycle currently, while I have enough spare money for it!) I'll likely go for the Sharp 4K matte version if nothing better comes around before then in the 4K laptop display market (unlikely).
