As the title says, sometimes the GPU fan will stay on full blast even when I'm not using the GPU for anything, and just have a couple tabs open. Any idea why? Could it be a Nvidia driver issue? I'm using the drivers that came on the disc for my 660m, do you know if there are more updated drivers floating around out there?

I have the same issue with my 675M, the GPU fan will be constantly on after I play games. I'm guessing it might be an issue with the BIOS. Usually I turn it off by open GPU-Z about 5 mins after playing games, which is kinda weird.

hmm. can you try something for me? Press Fn + 1 (not Fn + f1) when the fans are revved up, see if that changes anything. I taked to malibal tech support tonight and they suggested I try, as it would be an easy fix if it worked.

Nothing happens. I believe that function is not available on P150EM :(

yeah, the Fn+1 function wouldve been my first guess as well? what are the gpu temps like in those instances? do they go down fast after the gaming sessions have ended?

    cheers

I have the same problem with my gtx675m. The fan doesn't stop until I reboot. I also have the nvidia driver that came with the laptop (version 296.x I believe).

I also recently flashed the EC from 1.003 to 1.004 although I left the Bios untouched until the update is available from Sager directly. It didn't change anything though. I think it's an nvidia driver/firmware issue.

Having the same problem, putting the computer to sleep or running gpu-z seems to solve it.

there are couple of softwares that can modify the cooling pattern. By cooling pattern i mean modifying when your fan is turned on and when it should be at XX% percent capacity (depending on temp).

I know that for ATI cards you can use ATI Tray tool.. but it is obviously not very useful for you..
Correct me if i m wrong but i think saphire trix does that too, and maybe even msi afterburner.
It might help you to give these softwares a try :D
