    Hello,

I've been searching for 17", HD+ 900p instead of full HD, intel-i5 Haswell-U, integrated gpu, SSD and single stick of RAM, to save more energy. Win 7 Pro and fully black on external design. Not for games. Some video editing, music creation and regular stuff. I'm looking at 1k euro price mark.

I'm from Germany, but prefer everything to be 100% in English from keyboard to OS. I've visited mySN.de and NEXOC websites to get the picture, but all of the laptops are with intel M or MQ processor lines. NEXOC doesn't have an option for English keyboard. I'd be grateful if you point me to the right direction.

Clevo laptops tend to cater to anything but power saving. The closest model that comes to mind to what you're looking for, the 740SU, is still considerably more powerful (and more power consuming) that what you appear to be looking for.

Have you looked at other brands? Do you have any preferences when it comes to brand?

Yeah, on the most stingy battery sipping clevo, you're probably looking at 4-5h tops and that is just light web browsing on low brightness. Unless there's a clevo that does more that I missed.

Well, maybe Dell, but combination of 17", Ultra-low, igpu, SSD and Win 7 is non existent. Turning to custom was imperative. However, I did find what to buy on bullman.de the only thing i5 4210M 37W is what I'm forced to swallow.

The closest thing they offer is the NP2740/W740SU with a 14" IPS display. As machines get more efficient they tend to get smaller since the cooling's form factor allows it.

Currently, Im on a MSI GT70 which, considering its a gaming rig, should have a little more battery life than a comparable Clevo. Generally, Clevo and MSI have good built machines that will last a long time when kept well, so you are currently looking at the best value for your money there is.

Battery run time is never too impressive with those kinds of laptops, but believe me - performance matters more! (at least for us here on this forum) And you can always order a spare battery and exchange them :D

Notebook will be idling on desk a lot so exchanging batteries won't alter electricity bills which is important to me. I can't accept anything smaller like 14" very inconvenient. I bought 17" bullman for 1k. Thank you all for insights.
