    I found something very interesting when looking at the "mode.txt" file that came with the 174.90 driver from Sager.
    here it is, with the interesting part bolded:

    // 0407 - NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    // 0409 - NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT
    // 040D - NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M
    // 0428 - NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G
    // 0608 - NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX
    // 060C - NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX
    // 0628 - NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS
    // 062A - NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GTS
    // 0648 - NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS
    // 06E9 - NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

    Sweet. Either this will be cheaper than the 8800M GTX or the 8800M GTX will drop. Probably the former.

    no, its going to d*** expensive. the price of 8800 will dropo because , the 9800m is more powerful and produces less heat.

    OMFG

    THE 9800m IS NOT MORE PWRFUL THAN THE 8800m.

    ITS JUST A REFRESH. MAYBE LESS HEAT = ^BATTERY, BUT OTHER THAN THAT NO PERFORMANCE INCREASE

    MARGINALLY more powerful... but less heat will be nice and allow it to be used in more notebooks, such as in 15"ers without burning a hole in your pants.

    I could see the 9800m GTX to have 96 shaders like the 8800m GTX but instead of a Core 500/1250/800 they would be factory overclocked to 600/1500/900. Doesn´t that sound reasonable?

    Well, it doesn`t really work like that. But it`s still within the 10% proportion margin.

    I am in no hurry to upgrade, by time the 9800 comes out the 8800gtx will-hopefully- have a very efficient and optimized driver with current games fully supporting its rampant uber-awesomeness (again, hopefully). At that time why would I, in the right mind (not buying things randomly on Amazon while drunk and realize I bought something when I see an email confirmation) "upgrade" to a new card with limited support and compatibility?
    I may be wrong: just my 2¢

    >>>
    ATM the 8800M GTX is equivalent to an 8800 GTS, so I'd say thats about how it will work with the 9x series, but ATM there is a gap- between the 9600 GT(20.8B texture fill rate) and the 9800 GTX(43.2B texture fill rate). Think it would be safe to say that the 9800M GTX will fall in the middle there. The 8800M GTX and 8800 GTS share a 24B fill rate.

    Is it a bios flash or are you using an overclocking utility, if so what one?

    bios
    that's good question, surprisingly I haven't tried any games beside bf2142 after OC, frame rate increased from 80 ->95
    edit: actually the screenshots of crysis I posted 2 days ago were done with OC 8800m, but I don't know the original fps tho.

    How could I get a hold of a 550/1400/900 oc'ed bios or roughly thereabouts... I dunno if I feel comfortable OC'ed as high as you are.

    At 74C, I`ll say.
    @Magnus72 however pushed it to 625/1550/949 ... and he`s considering it safe :)
