Eh, it worked for me. They suck though. Either move back or go to dox's latest.

Use Dox's driver, it is working like a charm.

You can add the 9800M GT PCI IDs to the ones downloaded from nVidia and then install.

It´s easy. I do this on my 8700M GT and it´s working ever since I bought it. Just download the nVidia´s untouched versions here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=277020

Then use WinRAR to extract the driver package to a folder. Search for a file named nv_disp.inf and open it with the notepad.

Search for "[NVIDIA.Mfg.NTamd64.6.0]" and then add this below it:

    Code:
    %NVIDIA_G92.DEV_060B.1% = nv_G9x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_060B
    [IMG]

Then search for "Localizable Strings" almost at the end of the file. Add this:

    Code:
    NVIDIA_G92.DEV_060B.1  = "NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT"

Save it and it´s done... run the setup.exe to install the video drivers.
If you need to update them later just repeat this on your new drivers... ;)

Guru3D doesn't always have the best packaged drivers.
You should get them from nvidia/laptopvideo2go instead.
Also you miss all of the laptop customizations by just adding the ID to the INF.
You should use Dox's INF instead.
Things like resume from standby, powermizer, ect probably won't work using a desktop only INF.

    Thats not correct...

I just linked to guru3d for the direct links to nVidia servers of Vista and XP(x86 and x64) 180.43 drivers, because I don´t know wich OS Heathkidd has.

On my 8700M GT with just the PCI IDs added, powermizer works, S3/resume power state work, OC work, purevideo customizations work, CUDA/Physics work, AA and AF profiles work, everything works so far...

    ;)

I've had no problem installing 180.43, but it'd be a better move to use Dox's Custom 180.43 instead.

While I just now realized you didn't link to their driver packages, Guru 3d has been known in the past to provide the inferior versions of certain drivers.
Sometimes they package drivers with missing files, ect.
You can ask Pieter the INF man himself if you don't believe me.
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showuser=43
Also Pieter adds a lot of laptop specific enhancements to his INFs, that you miss by just adding the IDs yourself.
If your going to mod an INF yourself, there are some laptop specific settings you should copy over from Pieter's INF. (Dox's has them too)

Also, just because powermizer and other things work for you without the laptop tweaks, doesn't mean they work for other laptop users without the tweaks.
Things might be different now but in the past people experienced a lot of issues without the laptop tweaks.
