Ok so here are the 2 builds that I'm looking into buying.

    1) P150
15.6" 1920 x 1080 FHD LED Backlit Matte Display (don't care for Gamut, really doesn't bother me)
    Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.3-3.3GHz
    (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-12800/1600MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    AMD® Radeon HD 7970M 2GB GDDR5
    750GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA 300
Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional; 64-bit (i'd like to have 16gb in the future, I'm unsure of to get Home or Pro)
    Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 802.11A/B/G/N LAN Card
IC Diamond 7 Thermal Compound, CPU & GPU
    = $1,749.88

    2) P170EM
    17.3" 1920 x 1080 FHD LED Backlit Glossy Display
    Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.3-3.3GHz
    (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-12800/1600MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    AMD® Radeon HD 7970M 2GB GDDR5
    750GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA 300
    8X Multi DVD+/-R/RW RAM Dual-Layer Drive
    Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional; 64-bit
    Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 802.11A/B/G/N LAN Card
IC Diamond 7 Thermal Compound, CPU & GPU
    = $1,769.28

Now these quotes are from Malibal as Reflexnotebook hasn't update to the Ivy Bridge.

I chose a single HDD on the P170 for the reason I can probably get cheaper if I searched. I'll probably go 120-250gb SSD as primary, and 1TB 7200 HDD secondary.
I just need something for now. I'm going back to school (in either 2 weeks as there is a waitlist or in september), and I would like to use it to game for now.

This laptop will be used for school work (programming), movies (USB drive/downloaded), email etc and gaming of course. Currently I'm playing Rift, SW:TOR, LoL, BF3 (i will be buying a week or so). I'd also like to try streaming on twitch.tv or own3d.tv.

I'd like to have at least 4 hours of battery time as I'll most likely be beside a power outlet 99% of the time.

I'm trying to keep the laptop price under $2000, so if I do purchase from Malibal and get it shipped to Toronto I won't get dinged with $400 of tax + shipping charges.

    Any advice?
    I

No such thing as 7200RPM 1tb laptop drive yet. But Crucial SSD's are so cheap on newegg right now... Also, you only get tax if you buy from a reseller in your state, so go with someone without that handicap and you can spend much more. Also, the 7970m is a pre-order, so not good if you need it in a hurry. If you buy from Mythlogic they can put it in for you later (as well as customizing your hard drives ) at a really good price, it's why I went with them (see sig). If you buy the parts and ship them in along with your laptop, they can even set those up for you :)

Both are good builds, but personally I'd lean towards the 15". Lighter and more portable, and if you wanted you could connect it to a monitor at home for a bigger screen.
