I just got 2 x 5791s delivered. Both have 4gb, 2.4 ghz cpu, 7950gtx, 200gb 72300rpm drives and WinXP. Only difference is matte on one glossy on the other. I chose the glossy UXGA and it is really nice. The matte screen is excellent also probably the best matte screen I've seen around. My biz partner hates glossy screens so he should be happy. For my part the glossy one is a bit brighter and pops more. The extra res is nice too. Tried Half Life 2 at 1900 x 1200 and it is pretty mind blowing. Smooth as silk for the most part. I have two main concerns though.

1.) Speakers. Audio quality is decent but max volume is very low. I think I have everything cranked. Even cranked the eq in the realtek panel which helps a lot. We also got an HP 9500t for another biz partner who wanted XGA res. Sound on that is much much louder although more blarey and less hifi.

2.) Heat and noise. I knew there was going to be some but I'm surprised at the amount. The right palm rest is quite warm and the fans run even when it isn't doing anything. I don't want to have to use a cooler. I don't think it's critical but the HP is super quiet and cool by comparison.

Just got them today so I haven't had a chance to do too much with them. I'll keep playing and see how it turns out. If anyone has any ideas on the above issues I'm all ears.

    Thanks!

try setting the sound settings to carpeted hallway and the eq to "powerful" this made a huge difference for me.

device manager, then find monitors on the list open that. double click that this will open a new window. click details. now you will see a pull down list open it and find hardware ids and click that. post what it says and we can tell you who makes the screen
