2.0MP Camera?

Just browsing the XoticPC website and configuring systems (as I'm wont to do when I have no money ), and I notice that the 5792 and 9262 are now listed with the 2.0MP camera instead of the 1.3MP. Has anyone had the chance to see the 2.0 in action yet? I've read that the 1.3 is of questionable quality, and the 2.0 just seems like the standard now anyway.

First the 8800m GTX, now the 2.0MP cam... as soon as I get the money, I'm telling you...

Any info would be appreciated!

 

Since neither the new NP5792 nor the NP9262 have shipped yet no one would have had the opportunity to use the new 2.0Megapixel camera, but one would certainly think that it would be better than the 1.3MP version.

 

You`ll probably have better quality pictures,but from my experience, the 1.3 MP camera is perfect for web conferences,no matter the program.

 

I was hoping for, perhaps, some inside info from a reseller...

I can imagine the resolution is fine, I'd just read some complaints about graininess and bad driver support...

 

imo the 1.3 works fine for me.. im sure the 2.0 will be better but the 1.3 is pretty nice. i had a dell with a 2.0 and it was a lot better

 

Sorry, but if they haven't shipped they haven't shipped. Resellers don't have them either. They aren't even in the US yet.

 

2.0 is the best so far on built in camera. 1.3 will be noisy and quality aren't sharp and color quality wise.

It's better than external webcam imo.

 

Actually, it`s not that grainy...you could even check DTrance`s review of his unit with a 1.3 MP camera, and see that images are pretty nice. I`m to laisy to upload some pics of mine, but as I said, they`re pretty good, even in dim light,and webconferences are kewl with it.

 

my np9261 has the 2.0mp installed quallity is as good as my usb 2mp camera but as i have not seen the 1.2 i can't give a comparason. I will try and snip some screen shots of it working later.

edit: just re-read and saw donald say they have not been shipped yet? yet mine has it?

Well it's been listed as an option on some of the Clevo systems since they were introduced, but I hadn't seen any with the 2.0 shipped until now... figured it was a Europe only thing, like the silver trim on the 5791...

You may have just gotten an updated model, but cool nonetheless. Thanks for the upload!

 

A small volume of 9261 / 5791 were shipped with the 2.0M camera. Sager used these units as final verifications to approve the 2.0M camera for the NP9262/5792. Then instead of removing the camera and replacing it with the 1.3M they went ahead and shipped them. These lucky customers should treat it as a bonus as their order should really have the 1.3M cameras

 

I just realized it is Christmas back in the real world! Oh and an the picture quality looked good as well.

 

Yeah my fiance had the trimings up on the 1st of December.

Just went and checked using sandra it states its 2Mp there so I guess I'm a lucky one, wonder if they left anything else in they tested sadly no 8800's lol
its says motherboard revision D Bios version 255.255

 

I wonder if I bought another one I could get the 8800's that way?? I guess I will just wait awhile and see what develops.

 

Can i just only buy a 2.0 Camera by Sager? Will it ship to Europe?

 

Sadly the answer is no, Sager will not ship just the 2.0 Camera.
