So this is a preemptive location for us to post all of the deals the various resellers are doing this holiday season.

From Black Friday and Cyber Monday to Super Saturday and post-Xmas sales, this is the place for us to post them!

Since the resellers themselves can't post that sort of thing here, this is a way for us to help each other find the best deals and get as much bang for our buck this year!

This will also help with the price match and price protection deals that a number of the resellers offer.

Right now it looks like just about everyone is offering $100 off purchases of $1500 or more on the P150HM and above. And $50 off on the P150HM1

Also, just about everyone is offering $100 off the price of the AMD Radeon HD 6990M 2GB GDDR5

    What else have we found?

Just make sure whenever you buy, you get the price protection guarantee. This way, you can buy NOW, and still benefit for the discounts later.

Great idea, but resellers are not allowed to post their discounts. I'm not sure if this is allowed by the forum rules though :(

I'll PM a mod to make sure, I know of course the resellers can't post. I don't know if us just keeping track of the deals is advertising, since we talk about it in random threads anyway...

Resellers can't post in here. I'm uncertain if this thread will remain open, as we have quite a bit of issues with vendor favoritism.

I'm assuming as long as its not the resellers posting we'll be okay. I'm personally in the market to buy something right now, so I love this idea, I just don't know if I can wait any longer.

Taking a peek at my sig, you can tell I'm do for an upgrade. 1st gen m15x :/

Yeah I just checked it. As long as no one is blatantly doing a promotion FOR the resellers themselves. We're(tentatively) okay. :)

Llike I said, you do NOT have to wait.
You can simply PURCHASE NOW.. get the price protection, and get a refund if the one you buy drops down in price.

Of course, one can look at what the resellers (and builders) did last year to get an idea of what to expect this year ;).

If I see the same thing this year, then count me out. Will wait until Spring next year and hopefully the value of the dollar won't make the prices sky rocket by then.

everyone please keep in mind that prices of hard drives are increasing and might translate into higher priced laptops as there are floods happening right now in Thailand and several hard drive manufacturers have already closed their their Thailand factories. Thailand produces approximately 40% of the world's hard drives.

Quick example: the cheapest 500gb 2.5" 7200rpm internal laptop hard drive on Newegg is over $100 now, where as a couple of months ago you can find one for as little as $50.

I would be careful about waiting although I think it might be too late already.

$100 off any order over $1500 PLUS $100 off the 6990 is enough to sell me!

Maybe there should be an option to buy without a HDD. I know I don't need one and I am sure others have some 2.5" HDD's sitting around.

Dvan you can usually message any of the resellers and ask how much it would be without a HDD or memory. Usually it's only a couple bucks, so getting it with the drive isn't too bad.

True, but that may change as HDD prices increase. For me, at least, I'd rather have the $25 than a drive I don't have a use for. Of course if you need a drive then it's a no brainer.
