Hi, I am running XP (1GB RAM) on my 2090 and hibernation time takes loke forever...lot longer than a regular shutdown.
HDD is 7200RPM so It shouldn't be like that...

    Anybody experiencing this?
    Thanks!

On my Sager NP5790, shut down takes about 20-40 seconds usually but hibernation is almost instant.

My 5760 also took forever to standby. I noticed that the standby time is directly proportional to the number of drivers you have to unload.

The first thing I should recommend is a little Microsoft shutdown/stand by analyser called BootVis. It will detail each steps done to standby and the time used by these.

My main problem was my TV tuner. Just unloading its driver took a whole 5-6 seconds. The more I deactivated in the device manager, the quicker the SB time was.

Just try Bootvis. It takes a couple reboot, but the stats are great.

Thanks, I guessed it has to be with unloading drivers too. On Vista it also took a long time.
Main problem with this new thing is getting stable and quality drivers...I hope they keep developing for XP for a while.
I've used bootvis before...will give it a try.
    Thanks!
