Have you guys gotten this to work?
I set the control panel app to 50% charge and nothing happens when I press the SmartBattery button. My battery remains at 100%.

Smart Charge works for me with no software install. I just turned my laptop off and pressed the SmartCharge button with my phone plugged in. The button lights up orange and my phone charged up.

There is a folder on the driver dvd called SMB that contains the installer for Smart Battery software. It installs for me but the button doesn't do anything.

The Smart Charge button works for me. If you set Smart Battery so that the max charge on it is only 50% or 75% then pushing the Smart Charge button will let the battery charge if it is at or above the point that you set. Pushing it again will stop it from charging.

I think where you are getting confused is that you have the Smart Battery set to 50% but your battery is currently at 100%. You gotta drain the battery down first.

O ok I'll try that. It doesn't deserve the moniker "Smart" if it can't let the battery drain down to 50%.

Just to prevent confusion, when I say SmartCharge I'm referring to the USB power/charge button that is closer to you and SmartBattery refers to the battery charge button with the S label.

Smart battery should be used with laptop turned on and battery drained below your limit (50%?). Button should light up.
Smart Charge (Power USB) must be used with the laptop plugged and turned OFF. Button should light up.
I agree that Smart Battery get's a little confusing, app is poorly documented.

i tried the bizcom website a few weeks ago, too confusing! last night, i just popped in the Compal IFL90/91 drivers CD and went from there. They only had drivers for Vista64, which I am assuming is the 64bit version. I installed the smart battery program anyways. I found the settings and set it to extended life (50%) and pressed the smart battery button, which lit up orange. My battery still charged over 50%, so I gave it a few more tries but ended up with same result. I decided to just uninstall the program and turn off the button. Lo and behold, my charge is now holding at 50%. So I'm guessing the button has to be off (not lit up orange) for it to work. What I don't understand is, why the smart battery continues to work without the program!

Because once the program sets it up it will stay like that...you will need the program to change your setting again.
Stange behaviour though, I thought the button shoud be on (lit up) to be working....will try myself tonight.

If I leave the AC adapter plugged in most of the time, should I still maintain 50% or does it not matter if I leave it charging on 100%?
