I want to get the Sager NP2090 with the WSXGA+ screen but I'm really worried about the delay. I'd rather not wait, so I was wondering - should I just get the WXGA version? I've never had a glossy screen LCD before and I'm a little worried about the reflection. I kind of would prefer a Matte LCD. That being said, I'd also prefer to actually have a Sager too.

if you are worry about the dealy and rather not wait then get the WXGA and if you dont want glossy and rather get matte then get the WSXGA+. cant decide? flip a coin, problem solved.

Matte's great, as you may have read, the reflection on the glossy of the 2090s are not all that bad.

Go to a store like bestbuy, circuitcity, walmart ect that sells laptops and experience firsthand the reflections/glare of a glossy screen. Also a WSXGA+screen also allows for more real estate(room to work with) which might be beneficial while doing some tasks.

Also contact your reseller for shipping times for the WXGA screen(since you will be in the "back of the line". )

i've got the WXGA glossy and it doesn't reflect that much. i decided to go with it since both my cousins have Asus laptops with glossy screen and while using them, they didn't seem too bad. Glossy screens have great color quality and is good for viewing pictures and movies. won't be too good for outdoor use, im guessing, if i's bright and sunny out but other than that it's a good choice. overall, im very satisfied with it.

My laptop has a WXGA matte screen while my mother's has a WSXGA+ glossy screen. The glossy vs. matte debate is no where near the magnitude of the resolution debate. If you've been using a higher resolution screen, I doubt you could ever go back to a low resolution.

Thanks guys. I went to BB and checked out the screens. The glossy are ok. If you're looking at the right viewing angle there really isn't any reflection, but when you rotate the computer it's definitely noticeable. Great picture though, can't argue with that. From what I saw though, it looks like almost all laptops are being made with glossy screens now. I only saw two matte laptops there on display, and about 14 glossy. Outside of the Sagers I can't even name another laptop on the market right now with a matte screen. So I guess I better get used to it.

A lot of retailers still seem to have Matte screens available from what I have seen, and Matte is definitely my preference. Most of the major franchise stores such as Best Buy do not have much in the way of customization and what you see is what you get. I was just in my local best buy the other day and they did not have a single Matte screen on display. If you really want a Matte you can find a lot of models that offer them.

Another example of limited options at best buy would be the fact that a very large Best Buy in my area only offers three different bag choices all from the same brand (Targus).

Not to change subject on you, but they also did not have the VX Nano that I wanted to try out in my hand before ordering. Does anyone know of a good place to get a feel for a VX Nano or V270?

Mine too. Which retailers though, I really haven't seen anything other than glossy.

If you are going to cusomize the build on one your Sager/Compal/Clevo resellers all have models available with Matte screens (though not all models have it available). Dell/Gateway/HP and so on also offer many of their models with a choice. If you are customizing you can usually find a lot of nice machines with the option of a matte screen, even if it isn't the default.

I have seen some pre-built laptops with Matte screens at Circuit City quite a few times recently. Most of them seemed to be Compaq/HP machines.
