I'm definitely thinking about getting a Sager as I'm looking for a quality gaming laptop <2000$. Right now I'm looking at the 5792. Here's the specs I've got configured:

    ~1700$
17" WSXGA+ "Matte" Super Clear Ultra Bright Screen (1680x1050)
    Intel® 45nm "Penryn" Core™2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB
    512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8700GT DX10
    1,024MB DDR2 667 PC2 5300 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory
    Combo 8x8x6x4x Dual Layer DVD +/-R/RW 5x DVD-RAM 24x CD-R/RW Drive w/Softwares
    160GB 5400RPM (Serial-ATA 150)

    First a couple questions:
Is it worth paying extra to upgrade the processor?
I was planning on upgrading the ram myself. Would it be cheaper and how much should I get?

Now I was looking at the 2092 model which for about 350$ less as far as I can see I get the same thing except for a smaller screen (15.4v17) and a worse video card (the 8600 rather than the 8700). There's probably some other minor things like bluetooth that make no difference. Since I don't really give a crap about the screen size I'm wondering if the upgraded GPU on the 5792 is worth forking over the extra cash for. I realize also they are built on different models so the 5792 probably is better there but I don't know much about that. Any advice would be appreciated.

dont even think a 5792/3 without an 8800.. waste of money IMO.

if you cant get a t9300 and 8800 gpu get the 2092

Well the 5792 with the 8800 alone is already basically at my 2000$ budget. Thats' without any other upgrades or shipping/taxes so that probably rules out the 5792. Assuming that I do get the 2092 instead should I upgrade my processor over the t8100? I would have significantly more leeway as it would be well inside my price range.

well you prolly should upgrade if your gaming, especially with dx10 games youll prolly want atleast the 9300 with the 8600m gt in the 2092. Or atleast, thats what i would get.

Note also though that the vram in the sager is ddr2 not 3
