Hi all, I'm wondering if there are any stability issues with RAM running at 2666mhz?
    I have 2 x Corsair 16GB 3000mhz DDR4 sticks, on default profile it's at 2666mhz however the Intel says max supported for i7 7820HK is 2400mhz?

I've been having random BSODs (even when on desktop idle or locked), different error codes sometimes such as (CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION, SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) (always ntoskrnl.exe)

I haven't done any overclocking or enabled XMP or anything.
Is it possible to manually underclock it to 2400mhz?

    Thanks.

It is technically overclocking. The vast, vast majority of chips should be able to manage that speed.

You can reduce the load on the memory controller by running with a single stick, this would usually give away if the memory is indeed slightly unstable as the problems if related would go away.

Thanks, i'll try that next time.
Is it also possible to underclock to 2400mhz by the Custom DIMM profile values in the BIOS or Clevo OC utility?

I have the 3000mhz running just fine. No issues whatsoever.

A lot will run the higher spec but when overcooking you can't take anything for granted.

Truth be told, it is all trial and error.

The weirdest thing that happened to me was a BIOS update that forced me to reduce the speed manually to 2800 MHz, while my sticks ran and run rock-solid at 3000 MHz (XMP profile) with all previous and later versions.

Stock BIOS does not allow it. Clevo OC utility gives some flexibility, but I don't recall an adjustment for the frequency.

Still getting BSODs, running Driver Verifier atm.

Is it possible to use DDR3L RAM in the P670HS-G? coz I have two kingston 2133 ddr3l sticks there and I'd try them if possible?

Not possible as DDR4 and DDR3 have different pin counts.
