Quick and easy question - looked on Sager website but couldn't figure out answer. Can the Sager NP5760 have two batteries in at once? That is can I swap out an optical device or something w/ an extra battery?

    Much thanks.

    Hey Chad, :)

Currently the 5760 doesnt support the dual battery option. It does support dual hard drives by swapping out the optical bay.

I believe the reason it can't use two batteries is because it cannot supply enough power for the video card (Go7900GTX). If it had the ATI X1800XT video card, it is possible to use a second battery, but that video card is not an option on any M570U's that I can find. It uses less power.

So if I got two hard drives, a single optical drive, and a single battery; it would all fit into the laptop? Or would I have to swap out one of the hard drives in order to use the optical drive?

You would have to swap the 2nd hard drive with your optical drive.

What about with the 9750? I assume that you can have both hard drives and the optical drive in at once (especially if you are using RAID 0, you will need both hard drives installed otherwise the operating system won't boot).

9750 has no such option for 2nd simultaneous battery, LOL.

It needs 220w to power all of the high powered goodies... mainly desktop components, dual HDDs, dual Opticals,... as well as the 7800/7900 Go GTX.

It wouldnt be power efficient anyways if there was a 2nd battery because even with the massive 12-cell battery that comes stock with it, it really only gets a maximum of 1hr 40min to 1hr 50min.

You can have two hard drives and two optical drives going simultaneously with the 9750. :)
