How does 2nd harddrive fit in the dvd bay on 5720? Are any special fittings needed?

Well, you need the hard drive caddy in order to put the second bay hard drive in.

It is about $25 from most dealers - you insert the hard drive (Ultra ATA/100 hard drives only) into the caddy, take out the optical drive (there is a button you slide on the bottom of the notebook that pushes it out - check the user's manual), and slide in the hard drive.

I believe the notebook has to be turned off in order to swap.

Is the hard drive caddy something generic or is it something specific to the laptop model?

It's specific to the 5320/5720 from what I know. You'll have to order it from a dealer. Sager might have it too, check the accessories they have avaliable.
