1st-
umm, can the D900T battery be used for my sager's 9750V?
i looked at the models and the sticker at the back seems to state the same~
but yeah, just wanna be sure~
the only difference just lies with the color
(The alienware's area 51 7700 battery seems to be darker)
2nd -
is there any MAJOR difference between windows xp pro and windows xp home?
like certain features?
3rd -
due to the update of my BIOS,
whenever i start up my alienware laptop,
the picture changes to SAGER instead of alienware,
i want to know if this can be changed
but i dont want it changed to Alienware,
i want it changed to the CLEVO logo if they have any?
but i dont know how~
(for personal reasons XD)

Oh sorry,
a few more that i would like to know actually
4th -
About the RAM for the alienware area 51 7700 and sager N9750V
currently the alienware has 1gb ram (2X 512MB)
and the sager has 1gb ram (1X 1024MB)
what i want to do is perhaps
1st - upgrade the alienware to 2gb (4X 512mb)
(this is with the assumption that getting 2X 512MB is cheaper then the 1024MB chip)
2nd - upgrade the sager to 4gb (4X 1024mb)
but then can the sager support it?
it'll be a waste if it cant
also, do i buy the SAME TYPE of RAM for these 2 laptops?
or do both require different type of rams?
5th -
ummmm,
is this DVD-RW
or DVD-CD R combo?
cause the symbol seems different from my sager's DVD-RW
this drive can burn DVD right? -
1) The batteries might not be the exact model.... though they may fit. So I would not recommend to interchange them without checking if they are the same.
2) already answered
3) there is NO Clevo logo... the Clevo BIOS's do not have any picture... just the symbol of the CPU... like "AMD Athlon 64 X2" icon, or the "Intel Pentium 4" icon.
Its not important at all. -
hmmm
well because its like this
for the 1st one,
i plan to use the sager as my working laptop so i need a good battery,
but the sager's battery is dead (10 minutes duration), so was thinking of sawpping it. So you reckon i should just get a new one?
also, for the 3rd one,
in that case, how can i change it back to the alienware logo?
it just seems weird with the sager logo XD -
yes you would have to by a new battery.
you cannot change the logo that easily... you have to find another BIOS from Alienware for that.
4) the D900T uses DDR2-533 SO-DIMM (PC2-4200) up to 2.5GB
- the D900K uses DDR-400 SO-DIMM (PC-3200)
- Read RAM Deals thread for best deals.
5) yes that drive is a DVD Burner -

I believe DVD-RW is able to burn DVDs.
-
it's very unlikely that your laptop has 4 RAMslots
so 4 x 512MB will probably be impossible -
but the thing is....
it HAS 4 RAM slots -_-
i can open it again and take a shot for you~
anyways,
gophn,
with regards to the 4th question
so you're saying that the D900T can support up to 2.5Gb of RAM?
so that means the MAX that i can do for the alienware laptop is
1 X 1gb + 3 X 512MB RAM right?
then what about the sager N9750V?
what's the max RAM that i can get for that one? -
ummm gophn
i checked
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=121363
but for the DDR2-533,
there doesnt seem to be any deals of 2X 512MB
also, the way i see it,
the DDR2-533 seems to be cheaper compared to the DDR-400 -
The D900K can max out at 2GB (2 x 1GB)
The D900T may have 4 slots, but the system is limited to around 2.5gigs.
DDR1 is more expensive than DDR2 is pure economics (supply and demand)
- DDR1 is phased out (and is limited), but many people still have systems that require that type.
- DDR2 is still current and is constantly being produced... bringing the prices down.
As for the RAM Deals.... you can go to the sites to find other prices:
hmmm
looks like the D900T can get more rams compared to the d900k
actually the reason why i bought 1X1gb for this sager N9750V
is because i thought that later on i can upgrade it to 4gb
looks like getting 4X 512mb seems to be a better option for the D900K then? -
-
alright,
just to be sure gophn
can i buy this for my alienware?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145593
and this for my sager?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227109 -
by the way,
can i ask you gophn
there seems to be a problem with the dvd-rewriter
it cant rewrite any dvd at all
i installed the nero 7 on both my sager and alienware
on my sager it works fine
but on the alienware, when it begins writing it just ejects the disc?
is there any setting i must change or something?
or dont tell me that this DVD-RW is actually busted and cant write any dvd at all -
Or did you (like so many noobies) used single use DVD-R / DVD+R... and wondered why it wont re-write.... -
emmmm~
must i use DVD-RW/ DVD+RW? XD~
hahaha,
and yeah, i used a single DVD -R/ DVD+R XD~
i thought that i just wanted to burn and then close
thats the only difference right?
RW can be rewritten
R can just be written once and that's that? -
You serious?!?
.... thats been that way since CD-RW's -
X-D omfg X-D
no words -
tis funny, but everyone needs help in some ways
-
alright
spare me the joke
cause right now the laptop refuses to boot up AGAIN!!!
sigh, i thought i've solved this already and now its like that again -
reinstall the os, maybe the registry is blocked..
-
it decided to work again -_-
one other thing;
Question 6;
I dont know where to start but...
anyways
I installed Windows XP Pro in my D900K
I installed Windows XP Home in my D900T
now what i want is the text service and input languages
so that you can type in chinese language in my D900T.
For those of you who dont know what im referring to,
i took a picture here
so yeah
i was wondering if there's any way to get that appeared on my D900T?
any secondary or any 3rd patyy software i can install~ -
I do that with Japanese characters.
1) hit Add to choose the Language(s) that you want to use
2) hit the Language Bar button and copy the following
3) make sure that you did NOT Lock the Taskbar, so that the Language bar can be shown... as well as adjusted.
4) then go to Toolbars, and check the Language bar
-
wow thanks ^_^
yes it works now -
great, you answered it with pictures ^^ now i won't have to type a long story
-
I try to make things as noob-proof as possible when I have the chance
-
dang
i wanted to get these 2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145593
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227109
but apparently they dont ship to australia right?
i mean, there's no option for me to choose australia
i've seen your RAM list gophn
could you recommend me those that ships to aussie
and sells those 2 products for my clevo 900c and 900k? -
You do not have a D900C... like I posted before... you are mistaken.
(look on the bottom, its an old D900T)
No, Newegg does not ship internationally. You can look at RAM Deals for some other deals that are internationally shipped. -
well
what im trying to do right now is trying to look for the same item in ebay and hopefully they'd sell it~
i can find plenty for my d900t
but not for my d900k as they ALL sold the 184 pins and not the 200 pin ones -
ive looked at the RAM deals
all the DDR-400 ones are all from newegg
3 questions (just to be sure)
