I am considering purchasing the 15.4" Sager NP8660, and already have a 30" Samsung SyncMaster 305T to hopefully use with it. The Samsung requires dual-link DVI to run at its native resolution of 2560x1600, and after contacting xoticpc, I got this nebulous answer regarding whether the 30" will work on the NP8660.

"The word "dual-link" is not in the specs of any Sager notebook computers. We can't guarantee a 2560x1600 monitor will work with a Sager notebook computer. According to users' feedback, Dell 30" monitor model 3007 works with Sager computer, however, the Apple 30" monitor does not. "

He then said that they have no info regarding the Samsung 305T.

I was wondering if any has had experience with using a 30" monitor with the Sager NP8660; from the specs, I would assume that it should work (but am confused as to why the Apple 30" does not work). I searched some previous threads but found no comments regarding the NP8660.

    Thanks for the help

I believe its already been tested and works with 30-inch WQXGA (2560x1600) displays.

To make sure, you can contact you vendor for the specifics.

maybe he talked to the wrong person.

in any case, the M860TU has been successfully tested to use WQXGA through dual-link DVI.
