thats the good score for a single 7950GTX

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
it depends on what version of 3dmark you are running
3dmark01? ouch... -
hehehe or 3dmark99 even worse
-
its definitely 3DMark06.
-
are there ways to raise that score without touching my hardware?
here are my system specs:
CORE 2 DUO E6420 2.13 GHz 4MB
nV GeForce Go 7950 GTX w/512M
2048GB DDR2 800 (2 DIMMS)
WINDOWS XP-PROFESSIONAL
2.5" SATA 120GB(5400rpm) HDD -
that's pretty good then, i have the Clevo M590KE which is equivalent to the Sager 5960 and I got 5100 without SLI on. I get around 6500 with SLI. which drivers are you using?
-
im just using the drivers that came with my laptop
-
-
yeah, i got the 7950gtx in sli, something must be wrong then
-
go into Nvidia Control Panel
under Powermizer, move slider to Max Performance.
And make sure your notebook is plugged in -
your score reflects in fine. -
@Wu Jen: this link says that the m590ke gets around 6000-6500 on 3dmark06

I see that CpxAzx but its hard for me to fathom. It can't just be because of the crappy AMD proc can it? With the same video cards in both machines the D901C has over a 3k advantage, in 3DMark06, on the M590KE. There must be some pipeline address issues in the SLI implementation. I think I saw a post on this a while back talking about it have x16 on one channel and x4 on the other and a x16 for both to feed the chipset. I think the D901C has a x16/x16 setup. It's the only thing I can figure (besides the proc) to make that huge a difference.

I tried by a one shot best score run at 3d Mark06. Why? Because like climbing Mount Everest, it was there.
D900C, E6700 cpu, 2gb 800 mhz ram, SLi, 3d Mark06, XP Home edition, updated to NG latest video driver, RivaTuner overclock, nitrous, hit 9808 score. Just kidding about the nitrous.
Normally set at 624 on core and 775 on memory (sounds kinda like a 8700m - 625 and 800). GPU runs about 35c at idle and 35c to 38c during gaming.
I'd post the Jpeg of the score if I was skilled enough to know how. -
man...i should have so commited over-kill and gotten my vid cards in SLI...Any chance i can get a second video card in from sagernotebooks.com if i ever do go up to the chal;lenge of opening up my laptop and putting that in?
-
you can get another videocard... but I would refrain from doing that until the end of the year.... when you might just get a 8800M upgrade deal through them.

hey gophn, just so I can get peace of mind.
The Sager NP5790 will have some kind of high-end DX10 interchangeable card available in the future right?I just want some assurance that this laptop will be future-proof for as long as possible. It doesn't have the be the 8800m, just a DX10 card I suppose. -
Nvidia is trying their damndest to be able to get the eventual 8800 to fit into as many DTR chassis' as possible. The 5790 and 9260 are among the most likely to be able to upgrade to it as-is. Its more likely a question of power draw or MXM type than physical dimensions. Not to mention heat output. I know the 9260's have a good shot at upgradeability, so long as they dont do something like change the MXM type, because the 9260 has hardcore cooling for a lappy.
Right now, you could swap to a craptastic 8700, but it isnt worth it. Its just an 8600ULTRA. Down the road everyone expects an 88 to exist. Its a matter of nvidia trying to squish it smaller and cooler. -

I guess we can all hope for it then, ^_^.

only time will tell....
Word is out that XP will have a good chance for getting DX10... sources show that Nvidia has gotten some help from Microsoft to make this happen.
By year's end, we should see more about the 8800M and DX10 on XP.... sweet.

If DX10 comes out on XP and the 8800 fits in the 5790, I will be one happy little boy.
