I just placed an order on XoticPC for a brand new 9170 (its like Christmas :3).

On Sager's website I saw that the 17.3" 120Hz 3D Ready Full HD (1920x1080) LED-Backlit Display features 72% NTSC Color Gamut in Matte Finished Screen was what it says 3D ready.

But XoticPC CR /great Customer service btw) told me none of the screens were. Im lost here...

Is the 72% gamut screen 3D ready or not?

If it is you just need the Nvidia glasses, or the glasses plus the Ir transmitter?

Exactly! If you have money to spend why not in a 3D laptop XD. Specially if you can keep upgrading it :D

The laptop display is only 3D ready if it states it is 120Hz, otherwise it won't support 3D.

That, and you need the nVidia card for 3D support, the AMD graphics card does not support 3D to my knowledge.

3D is kind of the nVidia exclusive technology and they make the glasses for it, but you still need the 120Hz display to use it.

If you go to Sager's Website and click on the Specifications tab, it does in fact show the 3D screen as a choice, but if you customize the laptop it is no longer available.

So in short; no the screen isn't 3D capable.

The specs list it but it is currently not an option to select. Those specs may have been reused from the NP8170 which was the previous model which did have a 3D screen option. At this time there are no 3D screen options

I just called SAGER sales, and they said it will eventually be released, within a month or two, but they really don't know. :p

I don't think 3D is even worth it, so I'm just gonna buy without it, as I had 3D on my g74sx-3de, and I used it four times. Not worth it.

nope it has a different connector for the motherboard, it actaully requires a completely different motherboard, and i dont think the 3d version will have optimus, since the hd graphics from intel cant run 1080p at 120hz... sorry.
