I got 8475 3DMarks in 1280x1024 resolution on my system:

    - Display: 17" WSXGA+ "Glare Type" Super Cl
    - Processor: ~Intel® T8100 45nm "Penryn" Core
    - Video Card: 512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX
    - Ram: 4,096MB DDR2 667 PC2
    - OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit SP1

My VBios version is 62.92.23.0.14, the ForceWare version is 174.90

I'm wondering if that's a normal score for this system - I ran the test two times. If not, any suggestions as to why? (ie. bad driver/other softwares)

    I was expecting ~400 more 3DMarks.

    Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

    That's what I thought...damn it. Shouldn't I get around 9000 marks at least?

Could it be because of my OS?

Well keep in mind every system even those witht eh same specs are slightly different from one another. And 3dmark06 utilizes both the CPU and GPU so not unsual for same spec systems to be different by 500-600 points.

You doing 32 or 64 bit? If your running 64bit shouldn't be the OS. I got 9300 something with 175.75 but then again these are synthetic benchmarks, try actual game benchmarks cause those are what matters.

don't judge your computer by 3dmark only, since cpu is playing a big role in there. your rig should perform just as good as other for gaming.

I get around 8700 to 8900 usually... seems a tad low, but i think the 174.90 drivers may be your issue... try 175.75 or something.

No you didnt get the crappy end, your computer still rocks, make sure your not running many backround programs, try newer drivers.... tweak a bit... your score will go up m8.

Well, my AoC runs fine on max settings with bloom on (23+ fps usually). Sometimes it freezes for about 1 sec as if it's loading or something, but I'm pretty sure that's just the graphics engine that they use and not my computer hitching.

As long as gaming is smooth and the FPS is similar to what others are getting then that is all that matters.

yea AoC is a poor game so dont judge by playing that.... Try a good game like CoD4 see what your FPS is in that.

toss AoC in the trash, you'll be much better off.

THe diff wont be that big in gaming. Sure you will have a higher 3dm score, but its the gaming that count ;)

You are comparing your 2.1GHz/3MB T8100 against other laptops that mostly have a 2.5GHz/6MB T9300 or higher. The CPU may play a large role in 3DMark, but it doesn't play that much of a role in real gaming.
