3DMark06 scores are weighted differently than 3DMark05 scores, which may explain your wondering about the high score you're shooting for - 3DMark05 generally had higher numbers due to the different way they calculated scores as opposed to 3DMark06 does.

Hmm... that's exactly the score you would get from a single Go 7950 GTX (most people with SLI 7950 GTX's are getting in the 9000's in '06, as you said). Are you sure SLI is enabled? Also, are you using Vista? If you are, then (I don't think) they've released a mobile SLI Vista driver yet, so Vista can only run a single card for the time being, until they release the updated driver (hopefully very soon).

No, this system has been tested by many people on this site. It always gets around 9k on 3DMark06 and also Sager. so its something im doing wrong.

Do you think its possible that one card isnt installed properly because I ordered it with vista on it? it lets me enable SLi in the options though... Ugh this is frustrating.

    Nice!

If you're into Medieval II: Total War, can you show us FPS rates on full-blown battles? :D

Jesus, that's nearly twice the score my desktop gets....

Again, if anyone has Medieval II, I'm dying to see the FPS on big battles or castle sieges, just out of pure curiosity.

Yeah, I figured the wife can only kill me once :) And the only thing I plan on changing out is the RAM later and the GPU's when the 8800's are released.

Best score to date on 3d Mark06 with E6700 and Sli overclocked was 9808. I'd sure hope that +X6800 or X6900 and dual 8800, that 10k would shatter!

I'm thinking that I'm going to refrain from OC'ing my gfx cards for the sole reason that not having to was the exact reason i'm buying TWO in a high grade laptop...
