    Hi everyone,

    I got the P150HM with a 6990M/CCC 11.12, it is OCed to 825/1090
I ran some benchmarks in 3Dmark11 and the result is 4069 and 3560 at stock.
i know it is a good score for the card but I am seeing people with the 6970M
got results of 4300....How come?? As far as I know, the 6990M should out perform the 6970. Can anyone explain it to me?

Depending what driver revision you are using compared to others, what overclock you have...what overclock they have etc - it's really hard to compare.

Stock versus stock, the 6990 should beat the 6970 every time, I agree. When you get caught up in benchmarking there are so many factors when trying to compare one machine against another, it's pretty tough.

As long as your score is good for the card you have, don't worry about it. 4300 is not a typical score for a 6970, either they have done some extensive tweaking and work to get there, or they are outright lying.

I would not take those scores seriously the 6990M will out benchmark the 6970M and it is most likely they have forced off Tesselation in CCC which gives an extra 3-400 points and it does not show this is happening in the results uploaded to 3DMark.

Your scores are very good I got 4154 as per my link in my sig with clocks 850/1125 and that is very high for this card, there is no way a 6970M is getting that unless Tesselation is off or they have cooled the card with dry ice for instance to get obscene overclocks. If their overclocks seem pretty normal but the benchmark score high just compare the FPS from the graphics results and you notice they are too high to be realistic.

    Tessellation off....
so those scores are actually invalid.
825/1090 is actually the max clocks I could get with my 6990M.
    much lower than you guys.
