I just got my new system and i wanted to test it using 3d mark 11, i did the test and it told me on the website that my score was low compared to other systems. i have attached a picture. is it just a glitch or is there some sort of problem.

That's an ad for some BS software. Your score is high for other systems according to that test. I think mine was 3200 for the 8130 with 560m..

It isn't low at all. My 6970m gets around 3200 and a 560 should do around 2000 or so. That thing at the bottom is 'PC Health Check Beta' crapware. It's an ad. You're system is fine (and FAST)

In fact the histogram shows that you're in the top percentile for similar systems.

My 6970m does 46C idle and about 80C~83C at full usage. My CPU doesn't seem to get much hotter than 65C under load (similar idle to the graphics).

Yeah the 485m is a bit cooler. I might end up undervolting a bit. I haven't tried overclocking yet (not much need to :D ).

My cpu actually idles around 35C. What's your room's ambient temp?

i was going to get one of the 6970ms but once they had the discount i opted for this because it was only a 40 dollar upgrade and at that point they had stopped carrying the 6970m, due to "various reasons".

    I just ran 3dmark 11 on a Clevo P170hm with a GTX 580m and scored 3133...

    My precision with M8900 scores a 3087.

I'm thinking I must be doing it wrong.

ive had a few bluescreen issues after i installed ntune, but they went away after i uninstalled it. now after i updated im getting an error when i open up programs saying missing file msvcr100.dll. what do i do?

edit: nevermind i fixed the msvcr100.dll issue. i was trying to get this thing that had an unsigned driver to work so i could use my 360 controller on here, and forgot to disable it. btw boot times on my machine are really fast in comparison to other computers ive used.

Use MSI afterburner insted of ntune.

Search nVidia for nVidia system tools 6.06, it's the only version supported in Windows 7. 6.03 was the best; but it ends support with Vista. If you want to load overclocks at OS boot, you need to create a profile with the clocks called "osboot.nsu", and it'll load that for you. If you don't create the file, applying and closing control panel then saying "yes" to the question of "would you like to load these clocks at startup?" will do nothing.

Never tried MSI afterburner. nVidia appears to have stopped supporting those tools though, I don't know why. I've found them rather useful.

You should be able to google the missing .dll and see what you find. As for the program, you said you uninstalled it? Did you try re-installing it and re-doing your steps? It might fix the missing stuff.

I will try to reinstall the programs, when I get back. Oh and on full backlight and performance power setting I watched 2 tv shows on netflix, and still had 30% left so I got about 2hours out of with maxed settings.

That's versus a 3 hour reported time... an hour of battery life for backlight huh. But what I really meant was how it'd perform under load, if the GPU and/or CPU would be any starved for power (plugged in).

Performance would only really affect that with brightness. On battery, the CPU has idle timeouts to 5% and the GPU ALWAYS runs to 2D desktop unless it's required at higher clocks for something more intensive. Youtube/VLC are not intensive. I doubt netflix would do a lot worse. But feel free to test it the same with the backlights off, doing the exact same things as you did with them on, and see if they last longer.
