what temperature are people getting on 675m when running 3dmark 11? CPU is 3610qm. before repaste i got 70 degrees for CPU, after repaste, mid 60s. but GPU, before repaste is 90, after is still the same, whats wrong? MSI Kombustor goes up to 90 as well. this is with a 15% overclock over the 620/1500 stock clock

I didn't check CPU but for GPU after a 3DMark11 on my GTX675M before swapping to GTX680M was only 70C. And after swapped to GTX680M it's only 62C.

What are your ambient temperatures? 70c is rather high for a CPU temp. This tells me that your room temperature must be above 75F.

Your cooling solution is only as good as your ambient temperatures.

i feel my ambient temp is quite low, around maybe 17C. the CPU went down to around 65 after repaste, problem is GPU still same.

17c? You live in the Antarctic or just blast your AC? :p

Well, those temps are very common for an OCed 675m. I use the 580m (Same GPU) with clock speeds of 720Mhz and I see temps around 94c in 3D Mark Vantage. I don't have 3D Mark 11 to test, but I would recommend dropping your clock speeds down to stock and getting a cooling pad.

Your GPU threshold is 110c. You're 20 degrees away from that.

    What games do you play?

i play battlefield 3, stock clock brought it to a bit over 80C. I am in a basement, and its really cool here.

but my question is, if before repaste the temperature is at 90, shouldnt it go down after repaste? Since the CPU did go down by 5C

That is a demanding game so your GPU utilization should be fairly high.

It depends. The stock thermal compound is silicon based and is applied directly to the heat sink by the manufacturer. A good example of this is, when you install a desktop CPU you'll see a strip of thermal compound already applied on the heatsink/fan by Intel or AMD.

If there was a defect by the manufacturer, which is common, then your GPU temps will drop with a re-paste. If the thermal compound was applied perfectly then your GPU temps wont drop much.

What paste were you using by the way? And forgot to mention 70C after a 3DMark11 session is with stock clock.

MX-2's Thermal conductivity is 5.6W/mK, thermal paste like MX-4, Gelid extreme have 8.5W/mK. The one I'm using is Prolimatech PK-3, 11.2W/mK.

Could you run 3DMark11 with stock clock and see what temp you get?

Your ambient temperature is much lower than mine by the way, and my GTX675M tops at 70C after 3DMark11, sometimes results in 68C.
