    Yo,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is something i should know/do to solve this problem (maybe its not even a problem):

When i run 3dsmax the clock speeds remains as in desktop mode (200/100) ?
so i was wondering if it would make it harder to includes lots of elements in viewport and smooth animating than having it full speed (oc'ed 600/900)
And if so what should I do to give 3dsmax the "quality" of a 3d appz that makes my video card run (without sweating a bit thx to sager super ventilation system !)

    thx !

Dang. no powermizer as i'm always plugged in and on vista64.

(i did a search and it did come up with an utility thats only working when unplugged)
Well, i didn't even see a "mobile" part to my nvidia control panel (where the help reference said powermizer would be)

    ....
Yeah i know u think Vista sux but i'm sticking with it : dx10, 4gb ram and 64bit system makes me feel like it will become better in the future.

anyone else could help me on about this ?
Of coursee i could always have it (the gpu) run (through the bios) at maximum speed... but is it recommandable ?

if you are using Desktop video drivers with the wrong OEM INF like the new 174.74 you won't have a mobile section in your nvcp.

I know this because I was experimenting with diff inf's

yes, you could disable the ammount of active performance levels in the bios.

and have only 1 and use the highest clocks.

any other driver besides the stock 167.43 or 167.44 will keep the card downclocked unless you flash your system BIOS, not vBIOS, to a newer version. Though you have to contact your reseller to get the new bios and then the newer BIOS locks them at the higher speeds, thus no overclocking with the new flash! I would stick with the stock drivers...

as for my experience, even stock drivers had the card downclocked on my notebook (d901c model) and i already overclocked it through flashing the bios.
