Does any third party make a power brick for the NP9170s? Ideally one that might be a little smaller but even if not any other options?

I know that you can use lower wattage bricks if you're careful about not using too much power (ie not use dGPU and use power saving mode etc) but I'm not really interested in that, I want to find an extra power supply that is capable of the 200 or whatever watts the OEM puts out.

Worst case does anyone know the cheapest place to buy another of the OEM ones?

Contact the various resellers and buy one from them. Safest bet.
Since you bought from Xotic, get a hold of them and ask for a bargain on a spare power brick. Should get you some $ off.

Dont buy random bricks unless you are 1000% sure what you are buying.
If things go wrong, you could end up frying stuff (the brick, your battery, your laptop, all of that).

Voltage and amperage should be same, not to mention wattage output.

If you buy third party, look for something that is lighter and thinner and smaller than what we have now. And let us know what you find :D

Oh I wasn't planning on buying any old random brick but for example I got a Kensington charger for my old Dell Vostro 1700 that was like half the size and weight of the OEM one and was a EXACT match for all the specs. It also did air power which I was using a lot at the time. Now granted that sucker got hot enough to brand your leg with a kensington logo but I swear that guy on the plane next to me deserved it.

I, too, am wondering where I can get a second brick for cheap. I want to keep one in my office and one at home. My bag is that much heavier with it in there. There's nothing else in my bag I can sacrifice to save weight. Lol.
