Seems there's been quite a bit of questions regarding the previous flagship 485M vs the new flagship (possibly?) 580M.
What if we have the 470M? Worth an upgrade or not?
-
If you upgrade from 470M to 580M, I think it will not be that cost effective specially that you wouldn't be able to sell your used cards for a good price (580M standalone costs $900 shipped)
But If from 470M SLI to 580M SLI, at least you will have a performance boot for a lower cost ($720 per each 580M) -
please do not upgrade your machine until gtx680m is shipped
we all know your upgrade costs is enough to buy a deluxe desktop
why don't you beat 580m-sli 100% in 2012 Q1 ?
I think a 485 only live for 180 days and die quickly ,
so I suggest not upgrading the x7200 till 28nm is upcoming
A member of NBR from Taiwan , upgrade 480-sli to 485-sli on X7200, just for 2 month and then OUT now.
should he upgrade them once again ???
I don't think so . -
lol he just ordered 580m sli pack
and 2012 will switch to p270wm + kepler sli..........if he still interesting in notebook though -
the 485 die in 180 days ?!!! but all the video cards have 6 months warranty at least.
