Hi there) Planning to add 4x4Gb 1866Mhz for P170EM + 3610QM CPU and debating between Corsair and Kingston. The cost the same on newegg but the review are in favor of Kingston. Will it work with my CPU on full speed? Thanks in advance

    Well considering Ivey Bridge doesn't support 1866 ram, and the 3610QM doesn't OC, I suggest going with ADATA 1600 CL9 @ 1.35v

    hulawafu77, so 3720QM in P170EM os OC'able? Could it support 4x4Gb 1866Mhz RAM then?

Red Line, I think it's best if you just got the stock Samsung 2x4GB 1600MHz and then bought two more from Newegg. Though I thought my laptop would stay strictly gaming, it's already quickly become gaming-productivity and I'm seriously thinking about adding 8GB more.

Seanzky yeah, that's what i thought. I want to know if it's supported or not. I remember fellas installed 16Gb 1866Mhz RAM in 150HM + 2670qm... Probably ADATA is my best bet, while the same 1.35v Samsung got more expensive)

As written multiple times, Kingston hyperX pnp rams support 1866, corsair series like vengeance will not and underclocks 1600mhz.

I think his question is if his CPU/mobo will support the utilization of 1866Mhz and if it does, which brand should he get.

Corsair Vengeance uses JEDEC profiles and should not underclock to 1600MHz. Using Thaiphoon Burner though, any RAM would work.

Yeah just read what I wrote my bad, to rephrase Kingston hyperx PnP will work with 3xxx series I'm pretty sure some people with 2xxx series also were able to use it to 1866 as well.

However most people could not achieve 1866 speeds on the corsair vengeance series that includes both alienware and clevo models.

Did you have to perform any modification to the system or to the memory to get your memory to run at 1866? Asking because I have ordered the same memory for my incoming NP9150. I was under the impression that the Kingston PnP just worked.

Thaiphoon Burner is a great tool indeed and the results people get are amazing on a laptop! I know there're people who tried 2x4Gb PnP memory on Sager laptops and it works i just don't know if 16Gb is supported. Also, Sager removed 1866Mhz ram from the config recently...

My best bet as of now probably is 1600Mhz ADATA low voltage ram. 1.35v with CL9 FTW) Thanks for the input, guys
