Any thoughts on this screen? I'm bouncing between this barebones and custom building, the 8130 (with stock, 95% glossy, or 95% matte screen [too many choices!!!!]) and the Force 16f2.

I can't decide. Also the dv6/7 is a possibility if it's like a million dollars cheaper and available hassle free in Canada...

Personally, I'm hesitant to drop below 1080p now after having it on all my machines and desktop displays. I've gotten spoiled on tons of space. :D

However, the 900p is a pretty good choice because it's not the dreaded 1366x768 resolution (which is just awful on 15" displays and larger, due to the lack of overall space). The color gamut on the stock screen isn't as nice as the 95% upgrades, which I'm sure you'll get tons of recommendations for from others here- but it's still a pretty decent stock screen.

Argh!!! I just can't decide between a force 16f2 (like and 8130) and getting this and an ES CPU off ebay for a lot cheaper.

I understand the limitations of this 5160 system, but it would be like 500 cheaper...

Well the 5165 will get you better battery life but the gpu isnt as good as the 16f2/8130. Ask yourself which would you be disappointed with, worse battery life, or worse performance. It all depends on how and what for you'll be using the computer for. Personally i'd go with a more powerful machine and sacrifice some battery time. And a 1080 screen is pretty much the standard now. Put a 95% gamut matte screen an there and you're golden :)

Well, I was on the fence between an 8130/Force 16f2 and a dell E6520 (from NBR marketplace).

I went with the dell, despite the horrible graphics, because it was cheaper, had a great keyboard, came with a 3 year warranty standard, and didn't cause me to say "just one more upgrade" until I hit the $1500 mark...

It also came with an i7-2720qm which I figure I'd appreciate more than a graphics update, since gaming is a very tertiary use for this laptop. The longer battery also helped, as did the expresscard slot for emergency gaming.

Basically, as sad as I am to be missing out on the 560m, I am very happy. I am definately looking forward to Clevos 3 years from now when my warranty expires, and chips get a lot smaller and cooler.
