To make a long story short: I sold my 5720 to a guy and stated it had 6 months left on the warranty. Turns out it didn't. A couple months after buying it the guy said it shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I refunded him. I received the notebook back today. I removed the keyboard and keyboard plate and saw this black wire stretching from R609 to PR55. Is this factory-installed? It seems like a decent job and all but it's kind of strange that there would be a wire soldered from one resistor (?) to another, from the factory. Anybody know for sure? I have a pic attached.
It would be awesome if one of you could remove your keyboard/plate to check for sure. It would help me greatly. There are 4 clips right above the keyboard. Push in one clip at a time and the keyboard will pop out. The plate is held on by 7 screws. Underneath that is where you'd find this supposed wire. Thanks.

Anybody know? This won't void your warranty and only takes a minute to accomplish. It would be a huge help.

This may be too late for you to find useful, but maybe not for someone else. -
