    Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone else has run into this...

When I boot up into Windows normall I have two opticals drives listed. An E drive that says it's a CD Drive and then the DVD-RAM F Drive. When I click on the CD Drive a pop-up windows reads: The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable.

When I have just Windows installed on the comp it reads both drives, but when I install Linux and GRUB the DVD drive disappears. Anyone know what's up with this?

    Thanks,

    -Andrew

    the two drives:
    - one that says DVD-RAM Drive is your physical drive (probably Pioneer DVR-K16/17)
    - the other drive seems to be a virtual drive (like from Daemon Tools, Alcohol, etc..)

hey.. GRUB yanks our ATA interface the wrong way and disables the ata interface to the CD-Rom drive.. when You install Linux just use LILO, there is no know fix to GRUB and our system atm.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah, I've had success with LILO but was hoping there was some solution in GRUB or Windows. Weeeak..
