    I'm about to get ready to retry installing Linux again, but before I do I wanted to make sure I have the latest BIOS. What I was wondering is how do I get the latest BIOS for this laptop.

    When The computer starts up what BIOS version show when I start up..

    BIOS: 1.01.06

    For some reason I remember this reading 1.00.03 when I first got the laptop but I'm not so sure maybe I just got that from a review site...

    is 1.01.06 really the latest?

    yes, currently. There's two versions for this BIOS, depending on which touchpad is used. You have the latest version using the Synaptics touch pad.

    Thanks for the reply, more then I got from even R&J Tech.. the people I bought the laptop from.. I hope they are not going to just blow me off as a customer just because they have already made a dollar off me.

    RJTech wasn't able to answer the same question from me. I honestly think he just doesn't know and can't give the answer. His service and price matching is great and he always answers questions, even if its not the answer we want. ;P

    Search google.com for:

    You should find their BIOS selection page which has the M570U in the dropdown list. They seem to have the latest BIOS posted there, though the newest notebooks might come with a newer BIOS first.

    A good suggestion to the Clevo / Sager community would be to have new purchasers check their notebooks BIOS for an update and rip the BIOS with WinPhlash and post it. It would make getting updates more accessible and faster. I had 1.01.06 a month before it was posted on Eurocom. :-/
