Can someone tell me what brand of memory comes installed in the 5760, at least the ones from powernotebooks where I am planning on buying from. I want 2 gb, so if I plan on upgrading the memory myself, what ram would you reccommend I use? I know ppl usually like corsair and kingston, but I have seen the gskill come highly recommended.

Kingston, Crucial and Corsair make good memory sticks. I suggest you stick with one of the three.

You can use cpuid to find the make, model, and manufacturer of your memory- among other things, you can get speed, timing, and production dates too!

The memory that came with my 5760 is Transcend. Not the best, but it has not disappointed yet. :) Hope that helps.

Mine came with Mushkin (from Hypersonic) as a $200 upgrade. No issues with stability. If the timings are the same (and I think they are) just go with whatever the company is giving you.

I'll send PN an email and ask what they ship it with.

My Sager also came with Transcend. Laptop RAM is generally the same all around, but as long as you get a brand that is well-known I doubt you will run into any problems.
