My 5760 is having screen or video card issues right now. I don't know when it started as it seemed to have happened last night while i was gone. I can only describe it as it looks like the contrast is off or the screen needs degaussing. I have seen it come and go twice now. I checked all the settings and even rebooted but nothing seems to fix it. I have sent an email to the tech side of Power Notebooks describing this also. Any suggestions from you guys?

that sounds strange, deifinitely not a problem that i have heard for those or any other notebooks.

I know that when you have the notebook plugged in and unplug it, the screen usually goes dimmer (to preserve battery).

degaussing.. does that mean that the screen is blurry or unreadable?

can you give us a digital cam snapshot?

Nope, no dimming and the comp is on AC power. Power Notebooks suggests reinstalling the vid drivers.

Edit: Well, drivers were re-installed and the problem persists. All i have is my camera phone so ill use that. Ill post pics as soon as i have them.

I borrowed a camera from my neighbor but now the pics are way to big to post here. How do i resize them with just MSPaint?

wow, that looks weird, reminds of 8-bit color in old-skool safe mode.

Is your display settings set to 32-bit Color??

It looks to be a problem of color depth than the monitor, because of those pictures not showing it happening in the same spots on the monitor.. rather on the color of each different picture.

It looks more software based than hardware. If it is hardware, the only thing that can cause that is the LCD inverter is not properly connected (loose)... but thats rare.

Yup, it is in 32. I changed it from 32bit to 16bit and it still looks the same. This is aggravating to say the least.

They contacted Sager and Sager contacted me a few minutes ago. Ill be shipping them the laptop today. The speed of the customer service makes me very happy but the fact that this laptop is but a few weeks old and this happens doesn't. I hope that this will be an extremely isolated incident. I need my laptop and not having it for a week or so is going to hurt. Maybe they will be nice and hook me up with a 9750 for my troubles...Yea right! =P

Well, Sager techs asked me to email them my shipping address and i did around lunchtime. They said that as soon as they got it they would email me the shipping label which they didn't. Hopefully they will get it to me first thing tomorrow. I really want to get this comp off so i cane get it back. This messed up screen is really killing my porn collecting abilities. I am joking of course... =P

Well, Sager said that the Vid card was busted and needed replacing. It was delivered to my mailing address today. That was one long weekend w/o my computer.
