Do i have any options at all in "upgradability" with with the Sagar 5760 (not 5790) besides the 9750gtx upgrade which really isn't worth the cost. I heard something about the Merom being compatable for the 5760. Will this include the Merom XE or is that Santa Rosa platforms only?

your Clevo M570U (Sager 5760)... with a Napa platform... has no more upgrades.

But its still a beast and great quality gaming notebook on the market.

    You can top out:
CPU: Socket M - Core 2 Duo (up to T7600)
--- FYI: the Core 2 Duo's for your notebook is already Merom
RAM: up to 3GB of recognized RAM (you can install 4GB, but the limitation of the mobile 945 chipset will only recognize up to 3-ish GB)
Videocard: up to 7950GTX or Quadro 2500M (Clevo proprietary modules)
HDD: can handle any 2.5" SATA drives (up to 320GB at the moment)
Optical Drive: can upgrade to Blu-Ray or HD-DVD drive (but costly at the moment)

Technically this system will still easily last for at least 2-3 more years for gaming (medium-high settings for the newest games)... just have at least a 2.0GHz and up dual core CPU, at least 2GB of DDR2, and at least 7900GTX (which still outperforms 8600M and 8700M).... and it should be screaming.

Just make sure to clean out the fans and vents bi-monthly to prevent dust clogs... and overheating.

Hey Gophn, which videocard is better? The 7950 GTX or the Quadro 2500M? I currently have a 7900 GTX and if I ever end up running into one of these cards from a laptop part out or something, I was wondering
which would be the better choice to get.

    We're upto T7800 now, correct?

The video card depends on what you are using it for. The 7950 is better for gaming while the Quadro is better for professional use. (Autocad, Design etc..)

    Thanks for the info Justin!

So it has been confirmed that the Penryn cores can be used in the 5760? All of the threads I've read so far said no....
