was wondering if the hdd in this machine was same format as one that you would put in a desktop? if so could i upgrade and put in a larger/faster hdd? are there any requirements that i have to go by in order for it to fit/work in this machine?

I would imagine the hard drive is a 2.5" laptop hard drive, due to the lack of options 250GB and higher on many resellers' websites on hard drive options.

You can upgrade to any hard drive as long as it is 2.5"(desktop hard drives[3.5"] will not fit), 9.5mm(Height) and has a SATA(Serial ATA) interface.

You can also use an external hard drive is space becomes an issue.
