i have the intel n based card in my 5791.. on all my other notebooks i speedtest.net shows 18-21gb connection speeds on my 5791 i max out at 6.7???? i have verizon 20gb fios.. doesnt make sense ive made sure drivers were updated and checked and double checked everything i could think of.. any other ideas?? does the intel n card have these issues??

did you go into the properties of your wi-fi card and set the performance to max... rather than on power saving.

i dont see a setting like that anywhere?

when using the speedtest.net it goes up to around 6.5 then its like it hits a brick wall... all my other systems go over 20 almost every time. seems odd.. ive been screwing with it now for hours and i just cant figure it out its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!

i have it up to 10mb now.. arghh i pay for 20.. this is driving me crazy. what else could be causing this??
-
arghhh freakin intel. i now would need to find a router that supports channel bonding to see the full speed of my connection with the 4965.. just got the off the phone with a freind who is a tech over there at intel.. that blows

Hey there I had the same problem. Bought a 4965AGN to put in my 5760 (and replace its G card). For weeks I wondered wtf was going on as I couldn't connect at more than G speeds to my Linksys router.
Not sure what are your network settings but replacing my linksys with a D-Link Extreme N solve my problem. I don't connect at 300mbps but at least I get 130mbps trough all the home (townhouse with 4 floors - with router in the basement). The dlink has proven pretty darn reliable also. My desktop always connect in no time at 300mbps.
Keep in mind that the N protocol is still draft and there are tons of incompatibilities between make/models. -
what model did you get??
5791 intel wifi issue?? low speeds
