i just saw i spelled the title wrong.. arghhh well the 5791 is here im sure those here know what i meant... not sure if i can change it now or maybe a mod can for me?? thanks

well first impressions wow looks awesome. SO MUCH BETTER than the online pics. i do have a bit of messed up orange though on mine above the dvd drive its def a bit messy looking above the orange line. otherwise orange looks perfect, the case is beautiful on this thing. i actually like the carbon look material as another person said it looks much better in person. i wil lnot be able to see the screen till later on tonight since i just dont have time to build it right now. i have to install the cpu, hdd, and ram and install vista as well..

i also think it could have been packed a bit better but it was not at all bad. the box was just a bit beat up but everything inside is fine. the free case it comes with is a bit crappy. ill def be looking for a new one asap.

the only spot on the system im not fond of so far is the glossy part on the very front of the lid. it scratches very easy. i have scratched it yet but there are already some light ones just from the plastic they have covering it. that will be my one annoyance i think but i should be able to polish it a bit with some fine cut compound.

overall build quality IS FAR BETTER than the dell i had imo. all the plastic pieces fit together very well and everything is lined up. i done see any loose panels or anything that creaks or bends very easy, however the keyboard on mine def does have a decent amount of flex right over the middle section like where tyu are, it def can be pushed inwards a bit to easy imo. MUCH easier than the toshiba im typing on now. i love the brushed aluminum lid that looks sweet..

my unit also no longer has tpm. i called sager and spoke with frank. they do not come with this anymore. it was on the older revisions of the system, he said the newer ones do not have it. it does not have to do with the fingerprint reader that will still work fine without it.

and even though i got a clevo 570ru they put the sager emblem on my system which is awesome. i didnt want some cheap badge saying like "notebook" or something which is what i was told it would say if it was barebones.

so all in all so far im very happy minus a few small things. one day when i get ambitious ill open it up and make a thin metal aluminum plate to sit just under the keyboard for extra support. i have access to some really thing strong metals. im sure i can do something there. the gloss piece in the front i will cover with some black brushed aluminum tape i can get it will look very similar to the lid itself or maybe ill get it in orange or silver we'll see that will solve that problem. but for now ill just polish it out a bit.

also the ac adapter is large but not as big as some make it to be.. and the physical size of this system is NOT AT ALL HUGE. its not even 1/4" taller than the 15.4" toshiba im on right now. and only maybe 1.25" wider and 1" deeper if that. weight is just fine imo as well. this will be very portable imo

ill be taking a ton of pics tonight as i assemble it and post them when i get it all up and running.

was not my thread for the ES sample but i can tell you that all the ES ive used or friends have bought have been just fine , although 50 bucks savings isnt worth it IMHO cause no warranty from intel for a 50 dollar savings doesnt equal a good deal to me , now if it were say half the price of retail sure but otherwise no.

so far the one thing i really see i dont like is the keyboard. it feels very flimsy, and has a LOT of sink in the middle.. and the prt scrn, pause, and general keys over there seem to rattle when used, also the keys have very long stroke to them, they have to be pressed WAY down compared to anything ive used on any other laptop to date. im sure ill get use to it but it is annoying for now. overall i really like the system.. just has a few quirks

Hey, zfactor - warm felicitations! Your laptop is sure to give you great service. And it gets to travel in style ;)

It's a pity about the k/b flex, but like you I am also considering doing a mod. At least the strengths of this machine far outweigh the weaknesses.

I'd be most interested to hear your impressions of the screen and res. Due to time constraints I might also have to settle for WUXGA.

    Cheers mate

so far the screen looks really nice. i only got to see it for a few minutes.. i had to leave this morning to go to work and the hard drive was not secured yet due to missing screws.. but it looked nice it could imo have been brighter though. ill post a full review soon
