I got Vista SP1 and I stay up on all the updates. I haven't had any problem with my scanner.
However I have a 5793... don't see why it would make a difference; do you have to latest firmware updates? -
these last batch of updates screwed a lot of systems.. i have been fixing systems all week from them.. update reinstalled ones that people already had even some knocking out vista sp1 which needed to actually be uninstalled them re-installed such as my wife's toshiba.. and it takes about 4 or 5 restarts for the system to settle down after one of them (done remember the number off the top of my head sorry i can check though) but after a few restarts that system was fine..

Hi theorist. First off you should try reinstalling the Fingerprint Scanner drivers and/or software and reboot. This may make all the difference. If that doesn't work you might need to contact your technical support.

Maybe I should disable auto-update???? -
but def try that first. imo i would uninstall the driver if it will let you then do a reinstall.. reboot before re-install if it doesnt ask you to... -
ah... bringing back an old topic of mine because it still isn't fixed. i kind of want to just have it working. people say to reinstall the drivers... i have to drivers but where do i reinstall them too? i mean, the fingerprint scanner doesn't show up on my devices or anything like that.
