I got Vista SP1 and I stay up on all the updates. I haven't had any problem with my scanner.

However I have a 5793... don't see why it would make a difference; do you have to latest firmware updates?

these last batch of updates screwed a lot of systems.. i have been fixing systems all week from them.. update reinstalled ones that people already had even some knocking out vista sp1 which needed to actually be uninstalled them re-installed such as my wife's toshiba.. and it takes about 4 or 5 restarts for the system to settle down after one of them (done remember the number off the top of my head sorry i can check though) but after a few restarts that system was fine..

Hi theorist. First off you should try reinstalling the Fingerprint Scanner drivers and/or software and reboot. This may make all the difference. If that doesn't work you might need to contact your technical support.

yes ... some of the updates have disbaled sound drivers, video drivers, etc... i just fixed one today that told her she had no audio device installed after she did the auto update.. arghhhh

but def try that first. imo i would uninstall the driver if it will let you then do a reinstall.. reboot before re-install if it doesnt ask you to...

ah... bringing back an old topic of mine because it still isn't fixed. i kind of want to just have it working. people say to reinstall the drivers... i have to drivers but where do i reinstall them too? i mean, the fingerprint scanner doesn't show up on my devices or anything like that.
