get the 9262. You won`t regret it as it`s the most powerful laptop right now...
-
The 9262 should be more quiet... and a little more powerfull, but for gaming both are identical.. i took a 5792 because it was 1000$ cheaper and the battery last longer... oh and its a little bit smaller...
if you dont want to upgrade to SLI go with a 5792... -
Yeah, I really dont care for SLI and I guess that in the future you should be able to go to quad core in the 5792 or something.

But it will probably require a new motherboard, which would make this acquisition a bit useless (unless you want to pay a lot of money to upgrade).
I'd say get the 9262, as it's a way better (and yet not that expensive) laptop than the 5793 (considering you can have 3 HDDs inside and a quad core). The mobile quad cores will not arrive with the Montevina line-up (there will only be one quad core in the beginning and it will be the extreme version, which will probably cost around 1000$), but later on. -
Cool, cause I would hate to have to spend over a grand just getting the motherboard reconfigured and the processor, I would rather just be able to have a core 2 quad in the beginning or upgrade to a larger one later with the 9262 if you can upgrade the processor.
-
You can upgrade it, but not to Penryn (at least not now). If you want a Penryn quad core I'd say you should wait for Clevo to upgrade the laptop. If you don't want a Penryn quad core buy it now. May I remind you that the 9262 (D901C) uses desktop CPUs and what I said earlier (about the only quad core being 1000$) doesn't apply to this laptop.

Yeah, cause I've been looking at sites and so far istnc.com has the lowest price for the best config that I want, xoticpc and others sites models go over 3K and my budget in 2900 bucks give or take a hundred, but let me ask you a question, do I really need to get a Blu Ray drive, or should I do the other two options
1.Buy the Panasonic UJ-220 seperately and upgrade the drive later
2.Get an external Blu Ray drive with USB connectivity. -
I don't really think you need a Blu-Ray drive right now. They're expensive and pretty much useless. You'd be better off by buying a Blu-Ray player (if you buy BR movies that is).
-
Good, cause I already have a PS3 and I just wanted the drive to rip movies off of to back up. since I already have a few backed up from my friends burner I think he has a lacie
5792 or 9262 which one should I get configs posted for each?
