    How do these compare?

e.g. how does my system compare (below in sig) to a 8662?

Which graphics card is better the 8800m GTX I have? or the GTX 260m on the 8662?

Thanks. I am considering selling my 5792 and getting the 8662 if its a good trade - the 17in is getting bit bulky for me, and since I am gaming less more portability would be nice.

8800M GTX is a 9800M GT; 96 shaders, 500 core clock. 9800M GTX adds 16 more shaders and 512MB more VRAM.

GTX 260M is a 9800M GTX, in 55nm fabrication with a small factory overclock; 112 shaders, 550 core clock

At best, a 260M is perhaps 15% faster than the 8800M GTX or 9800M GT. A 9800M GTX can be just as fast with overclocking.

The NP8662 is also using the montevina chipset with faster dual cores or even quad cores to choose from, DDR3 memory, among other general improvements. It's a decent upgrade if you really need the smaller chassis.
