    Hello,

I purchased this awesome laptop directly from Sager earlier this year with the following specs:

    t9300
    8700gts
    2gb ram
    200gb - 7200rpm
Vista Home Premium (Windows Experience Index score 5.0)

I am considering to up my ram to 4gb but is a complete newb. Before attempting to do this...what type and brand (best) will be compatible? Also, is this just a plug and play kinda deal or will I need to do something on the computer after putting them in?

Also, is it possible to upgrade my video card to a 8800gts/gtx? If so, should I even try to do it myself or have a professional do it?

Since, as Nirvana put it, you sound pretty "noob," and since the computer is less than a year old (i.e., it's still under basic warranty), I'd suggest talking to Sager about having the work done for you - no sense in blowing your warranty 'cause you muffed something up on your first go-round with the guts of a computer.

Allow me to give you a full answer, don`t mind the other clowns :D
First off , the RAM can be upgraded easily, you just remove the back panel and there you`ll see the 2 sticks. Remove those and replace them with new ones, you can get 4 gb ram from newegg cheap. Test it with memtest86 and if there`s no errors, they`re a keeper.
About branding: I`ve seen Patriot, A-data, Micron,Samsung,Kingston , OCZ and Corsair work on the RU. So whichever you find with better latency(meaning lower like 4-4-4-12 or 5-5-5-15) get that and make sure it`s got a big warranty, like lifetime.
